Today dh serves the last day of his sentence at TDBN. As of Monday there is no more one hour commute (each way), no more miserable co-workers, no more miserable Lewiston, no more wasting away behind his computer doing work he hates...and of course...no more paycheck.

I suppose I am slightly in denial of what this actually means for my lifestyle (like no more $10 fruit salad from the WO salad bar). I feel like we already live pretty lean...at least compared to the dual income days! Bag and shoe collection in bedroom closet is a frequent reminder of the precarious spending.

Anyway...we are now forging ahead with Zip Lens and planning on success.

As for everything else in my life I am doing quite well.

Confessions

Listening to Red Hot 95.9 [Hip Hop radio station] while I'm all alone at home working...painting...cleaning...cooking...and of course...groovin'!

Popping Newman's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter cups...they are just soooo good.

Watching Sex and the City reruns on TBS.

Using white sugar (which is a really old remnant of my non-crunch days) in my baking just because I have it and want to use it up (and it's cheap).

Eating goat cheese (and other raw dairy products) while I'm pregnant.

Upon review of this list I see that I truly am boring and bordering on loser status.

Naps

I miss her naps. Two long hours of solitude. There was nothing like it...no amount of TV or playing on her own is quite the same as knowing she is sleeping. We lost our lovely naps about a month ago. I took it surprisingly well. Spring was upon us and the sunshine seemed to make the loss more bearable. Bedtimes got earlier and easier (a bit of a struggle sometimes since the sun is still shining but her sheer exhaustion helps) and I get to talk to dh without having to include her in the conversation (doesn't happen much). Good news...we still like each other!

Well today her little body just couldn't hold out for bedtime...at 4pm she fell asleep on the couch. I tried to wake her...fearful of jeopordizing our entire evening (most importantly I need to see 24) but she just threw herself back down to sleep.

36 minutes later...ahhhh...I can't bring myself to wake her. But unless I want a 2 year old climbing all over me while I watch Jack Bauer save the world I better try.

Frustrating Adventures in Craftiness

As a novice seamstress I am constantly frustrated by sewing projects that don't come out right! My latest effort to attach a more comfortable "waistband" onto a pair of GAP maternity jeans was unsuccessful. Is it really too much to ask to have a pair of maternity pants that don't fall down while simply walking, sitting or standing still? It seems that it is. My efforts at a maternity skirt were slightly more successful but still not perfect. I am debating ripping it out and making some adjustments because it is sooo close...but that could further jeoporadize my minimal success as it stands. I am even frustrated with my attempts to hem dish towels. I spend far more time setting up the machine than I do enjoying the fruits of my labor. To be fair I really don't sew very often...so chin up...keep at it...practice makes perfect. There...I feel much better now. Thanks for the pep talk, self.

P.S. I would post pictures of all my projects but I no longer have access to a digital camera that I am able to operate. My
husband now has a fancy ass new camera with all sorts of lenses and buttons and complicated crap. I tried to take some pictures with it today of C playing in the rain but they didn't come out and I don't know how to upload them onto the computer anyway.

Done griping. Bye.
